Richard Lee Daniels, the owner of the firm, has a very focused vision and philosophy of the legal services we provide to our corporate and individual clientele. We believe the role of the attorney in society is to be the dedicated and powerful advocate and advisor protecting the interests of the client, while advising the client of their rights, and explaining the difficult and complicated practices and processes of the application of the law in the legal system. In representing our clients, we shall exercise independent professional judgment and render candid advice. In rendering this advice, we may refer not only to law but to other considerations such as moral, economic, social, and political factors, that may be relevant to the clients situation. There are two basic legal categories as follows:

Civil law: This general category of law covers all legal issues that do not involve criminal activity or the actual violations of the law. Generally, one party sues another because they have been wronged in some way and want a certain type of compensation for that wrong. Civil law also includes legal agreements, real estate transactions, divorces, child custody, probate, wills, trusts and estate planning.  It also encompasses various other matters where legal paperwork and administration is necessary to protect all parties involved.

Criminal law: This category of law relates to offenses that violate the laws of a local, state, or federal government. The prosecution is handled by government employed lawyers of that government entity, and the defense is handled by either a publicly appointed defender, or a private defense attorney whom the defendant hires to represent them in the defense of the charges alleged.

The Law Offices of Richard Lee Daniels specialize in the following areas of law: Personal injury cases – where a party is injured and accrues damages because of the reckless disregard or negligence of another party. We are experienced in handling all aspects of probate, wills, trusts and estate planning. Our law firm staff is very experienced in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, paternity, child support, visitation. Our criminal law practice handles criminal defense cases, including all misdemeanors and felony charges. We also handle associated criminal law issues such as parole/prison release, and probation revocation cases.

Mediation
Several years ago I began to expand my law practice by developing an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mediation practice to better serve my current and future clientele.  This new aspect of my practice is aligned with the current trend of mandatory mediation requirements by many county, district and federal courts in  Texas.  This mandatory requirement to mediate conflicts and disputes, before you are allowed to proceed to litigation is the court’s attempt to clear the court’s dockets  and save the parties the enormous expense  of trial litigation.
The second facet of our mediation service, beyond the court referrals, is our ability to facilitate the resolution and settlement of any dispute or conflict between parties, both individual and commercial
